Netherlands Antilles - Queen Emma Bridge

Queen Emma Bridge is a pontoon bridge across St. Anna Bay in the Netherlands Antilles. Completed in 1939. It connects the Punda and Otrobanda quarters of the capital city, Willemstad. The bridge is hinged and opens regularly to enable the passage of ocean going vessels. When ships are going in or out the bridge has to be sailed away by rotating around a turning point at the Otrobanda side. Pontoon bridges are floating bridges supported by barge-or-boat-like pontoons to support the bridge deck and its dynamic loads. While pontoon bridges are usually temporary structures, some are used for long periods of time.

France - Pont-d'Arc 達爾克橋

d'Arc Bridge (Pont-d'Arc) is a great natural bridge, located in the Ardèche département in the south of France, near the town of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc.
The bridge has a width of 60 meters and a height of 45 meters and was carved out by the Ardèche River. It is a very popular canoeing and kayaking area and is heavily visited by tourists.


達爾克橋是一個美妙的天然橋樑,位於法國南部阿爾代什河,靠近瓦隆達爾克橋鎮。
這座橋被阿爾代什河流岔出60公尺寬,45公尺高。成為一個非常受歡迎的獨木舟及皮划艇泛舟區,湧入大量遊客。

United States - Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge, one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, stretches 1825 m over the East River connecting the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. On completion, it was the largest suspension bridge in the world and the first steel-wire suspension bridge. Originally referred to as the New York and Brooklyn Bridge, it was dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge in an 1867 letter to the editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and formally so named by the city government in 1915. Since its opening, it has become an iconic part of the New York skyline. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964.

United States - Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean. As part of both U.S. Route 101 and State Route 1, it connects the city of San Francisco on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County.
The bridge had the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in May 28 1937 and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California.

Taiwan ROC - Kuandu Bridge

Kuandu Bridge is spanning the Danshui River in Taipei, completed in 1983. It links Bali with Tamsui of Taipei County, near Tamsui's border with Beitou in Taipei City. It carries the Provincial Highway No. 15. The bridge is an through arch bridge designed by Tung-yen Lin. A five-span continuous steel tied arch structure, with a center span of 165 m. long, width of 19 m. and the total length of 539 m. This was first time all domestic produced steel structure in Taiwan.

RSA Transkei - Mitchell Bridge

Mitchell Bridge is a steel bridge cross the mouth of the Umtamvuna River between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, built in 1967, is also the border between Natal and the (formally) Transkei and main access point for traffic to the nearby Wild Coast Sun hotel, Water World and casino complex on the South Coast.
Transkei—which means "the area beyond the Kei River"—is a region situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is also the name of an Apartheid-era Bantustan (1959–94) corresponding to this territory. The Transkei is bordered by the Umtamvuna River in the north and the Great Kei River in the south, while the Indian Ocean and the Drakensberg mountain range of the landlocked kingdom of Lesotho serve as the Transkei's respective eastern and western frontiers. The main city is Mthatha, usually given as 'Umtata' on maps and in English-language medium materials.

Changhong Bridge located at the mouth of the Siuguluan River, is the terminus for rafters. At the time of construction, in 1969, it was the longest single-span bridge in Taiwan. It is said to resemble a rainbow, hence its name "long rainbow" bridge. Below the bridge lies an area of strangely shaped limestone rocks. With a little imagination, the rocks can be said to resemble many different things. Small boats make regular trips around the area if you wish to see the stone formations up close.

Philippine - Jones Bridge

Jones Bridge, formerly known as Puente de Espana (Bridge of Spain), was first built in 1701. It was rebuilt by the Americans in 1916 and renamed after Atkinson Jones, a member of the U.S. Congress and chairman of the Insular Affairs Committee who sponsored the Philippine Autonomy Act in 1916. Jones Bridge was once hailed as Manila's queen of the bridges until it fell into neglect and disrepair in the 1980s. However, some partial restoration has preserved the elegance of its neoclassical architecture. The bridge near the Manila Central Post Office and spanning the Pasig River.

Taiwan ROC - Sansiantai Bridge

Chenggong’s Sansiantai (Terrace of the Three Immortals) is a coral reef island with lots of huge rocks on land and coral reefs in the sea around it. With an area of about three hectares, the island is connected to Taiwan proper by a beautiful 320-meter-long footbridge.

Taiwan ROC - Chungchen Bridge

Chungchen Bridge is a small stone arch bridge in Taichung’s Chungshan Park. The park built in 1903, it is also called Taichung Park. It has an area of 10.5 hectares. The graceful classical-styled Huhsin Pavilions in the park’s lake are its most representative feature. Their red roofs and snow-white walls resemble two bamboo hats. Among the most famous landmarks of Taichung City, these are great places for Taichung residents to relax.

Taiwan ROC - Sindong Bridge 苗栗新東大橋

Spanning the Houlong River, this bridge in Gongguan Township is the gateway to Miaoli City. Opened to traffic in 1997, this symmetrical twin-tower cable-stayed bridge has a total length of over 320 meters and a width of 21 meters.


苗栗新東大橋橫跨後龍溪,是公館鄉進入苗栗市之交通要道。1997年通車,橋長320餘公尺,寬21公尺,為對稱式雙橋塔斜張橋。

Taiwan ROC - Shueiyun Bridge 水里水雲橋

Spanning the Shueili River, the bridge has a total length of 96 meters and a width of 3 meters. Completed in 2005, it was the first bridge in Nantou County to fully adopt solar lighting for nighttime illumination. Its colorful flashing lights are a traffic stopper.


水里水雲橋橫跨水里溪,橋長約96公尺,主橋寬3公尺,2005年完工,為南投縣第一座採用全太陽能夜間照明橋梁,夜晚綻放五彩跳動霓虹燈光,常吸引往來人車駐足觀賞。

Taiwan ROC - Jilu Bridge 南投集鹿大橋

Spanning the Jhuoshuei River, the Jilu Bridge connects Jiji and Lugu Townships. It was opened to traffic in 2004 and has a total length of 967 meters and a width of 24 meters. It was the first side-spar cable-stayed bridge entirely built of concrete in Taiwan. The under-the-bridge illumination creates spectacular nighttime scenery. The bridge supports both transportation and tourism.


南投集鹿大橋橫跨濁水溪,連接集集鎮與鹿谷鄉。2004年全面通車,橋長967公尺,寬24公尺,為臺灣第一座全混凝土構造單柱斜張橋,橋底設置夜間水面投射燈,具景觀夜視效果,是一座兼具交通與觀光的橋梁。


Portugal - Bridge at Canicada Dam

Bridges at Canicada Dam, in Peneda-Gerês National Park extends along the Spanish frontier from the Castro Laboreiro plateau by way of the Peneda, Soajo, Amarela and Gerês mountains to the Mourela plateau in the south. Large areas within the park boundaries, which were officially defined in 1971, are protected nature reserves. The park can be explored by car, and also has several good walks. The park includes expanses of completely unspoiled country with magnificent forest and mountain scenery and beautiful artificial lakes. The highest peaks are in the Serra do Gerês, which rises within Portuguese territory to 1,545m in the Nevosa and 1,538m the Altar de Cabroes.

Taiwan ROC - Wurih Bridge 臺中烏日大橋

Spanning the Han River, this beautiful cable-stayed bridge is the gateway to Taiwan High Speed Rail’s Wurih Station for Taichung City, Taichung County and the Nantou area. Opened to traffic in January of 2004, it has a total length of 179 meters and a width of over 20 meters. This stylish steel bridge has become a new landmark in Wurih township.


臺中烏日大橋橫跨旱溪,為臺中縣市及南投地區進出高鐵烏日站的交通要道,為拱承式斜張景觀橋,橋長179公尺,寬逾20公尺,民國2004年1月通車,造型特殊鮮明,成為烏日鄉新地標

Taiwan ROC - Dajhih Bridge 臺北大直橋

The Dajhih Bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge with a single pylon in the shape of a fishing rod in the city. In January 2003, the main span was opened to traffic. The bridge has a total length of 820. At night, when its red cables and pylon are illuminated, it sets off the beautiful scenery of neighboring Keelung River Park.


臺北大直橋是臺北市首座釣竿式斜張橋,2003年1月開放主橋全線通車,全長820餘公尺。夜間經由橋體照明,以景觀投射燈將釣竿型橋塔與紅色鋼纜打亮橋身,光彩奪目,更襯托出基隆河河濱公園的美麗景致。

Viet Nam - My Thuan Bridge

My Thuan Bridge was formally opened on 21 May 2000. The bridge was first across the Mekong River in Vietnam, has been a dream of the people of southern Vietnam for many years. With over 16 million people living south of the river it has always been a major barrier to progress. The opening up of access to this area will be a major economic boost. The Government of Vietnam Australia agreed in May 1993 to consider a proposal to construct a bridge over the Mekong River at My Thuan. The bridge is a world class structure that overcame significant technical problems such as the need for piling up to 100 meters deep.

Viet Nam - Long Bien Bridge

Long Bien Bridge was a historic cantilever bridge across the Red River that connects two parts of the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. It was built in 1903 by the French architect Gustave Eiffel. Before Vietnam's independence in 1954, it was called Doumer Bridge, named after Paul Doumer - The Governor-General of French Indochina and then French president. It was, at that time, one of the longest bridges in Asia with the length of 2,500 m.. It was heavily bombarded during Vietnam War due to its critical position (the only bridge at that time across the Red River and connect Hanoi to the main port Haiphong). Nowadays, only half of the bridge retains its original shape. A project with support and loan from French government is currently in progress to rebuild the bridge to the original state. Due to its age, the traffic in the bridge is now limited to the trains only.


Australia - Bolte Bridge

Bolte Bridge is a large twin Cantilever bridge in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It spans the Yarra River and Victoria Harbour in the Docklands precinct to the west of the Melbourne CBD. It forms part of the CityLink system of tollroads that connects the Tullamarine Freeway from the northern suburbs with the West Gate Freeway and the Domain and Burnley tunnels to the Monash Freeway and the south eastern suburbs.


Australia - Birkenhead Bridge

Birkenhead Bridge was a movable bridge, so that boats can pass through the Port River. It is also the site of a future third Port River crossing, the Port River Expressway, another opening bridge which is designed to ease traffic congestion in the area. Birkenhead is essentially a residential suburb, with a minor harbourside presence on the southern and eastern shores of the suburb.


Australia - Lockyer Creek Bridge

Lockyer Creek Bridge was a Railway Bridge at Lockyer, built to an innovative design, being only the second reinforced concrete arched bridge designed in Australia. It was one of a series of concrete arch bridges built for the Queensland railways between 1900 and 1913 and is unusual in construction, having separate twin parabolic arch ribs and braced concrete spandrel columns. Spans a dry gully on the eastern bank of Lockyer Creek, 1 kilometre south south east of Lockyer. It is a concrete arch bridge aligned on a 12 chain curve and carrying a single track on a ballasted deck.
