Westminster Bridge is a road and foot traffic bridge spans the River Thames between Westminster, Middlesex bank, and Lambeth, Surrey bank in what is now Greater London, England. The bridge was esteemed one of the most complete and elegant structures of the kind in the world. It is 316.4 meters long and 13.4 meters wide and comprising seven spans. This magnificent structure was begun in 1739, and was finished in 1750. It was built after a design of Charles Labelye, an ingenious Swiss architect.
In 2005 it underwent a complete refurbishment, which was finished in 2007. This sought to restore it to its former glory by replacing the iron fascias and repainting the whole bridge.
