Mostar Bridge is the city's symbol, the old bridge (Stari Most) across River Neretva has a arch with 29 meters wide and 20 meters high is one of the most important structures of the Ottoman era and was built by Mimar Hayrettin, in Mostar.
1992 in civil war of Bosnia it has been destroyed but it rebuild in 1999, until the completion of restoration in the spring of 2004. In July 2005, UNESCO finally inscribed the Old Bridge and its closest vicinity onto the World Heritage List.
