Senegal - Faidherbe Bridge 費代爾布大橋

Faidherbe Bridge is a road bridge over the Senegal River which links the island of the city of Saint-Louis in Senegal to the African mainland. The metal bridge is 507.35 meters long and 10.5 meters wide, weighing 1,500 tones, it has in total eight spans of which one span of 42.95 meters, two spans of 36.55 meters and five spans each of 78.26 meters. The second span from the city is mobile, being capable of turning 45 degrees to let small ships to cross.
The bridge was opened on July 14 1897. It was built by Gustave Eiffel. Gustave Eiffel was a French structural engineer and entrepreneur and a specialist of metallic structures. He is famous for designing the Eiffel Tower, Paris, France and Statue of Liberty, New York Harbor, United States.

費代爾布大橋是一座跨越塞內加爾河的公路橋，連接塞內加爾聖路易斯島城市與非洲大陸。金屬橋身長507.35公尺，寬10.5公尺，重達1500噸，全橋分成8段跨度 ，其中1段跨度為42.95公尺，兩段跨度為36.55公尺和5段跨度各78.26公尺。接近市區的第二跨度是活動的，可以呈45度轉向，能夠讓小型船舶通過。
這座橋是1897年7月14日落成揭幕，是由古斯塔夫艾菲爾所建造，古斯塔夫艾菲爾是法國結構工程師，著名的法國巴黎艾菲爾鐵塔及美國紐約自由女神像都是他設計建造的。
