Purdue Bridge is the only suspension bridge for pedestrian that runs from Central Cross-Island Highway leading to Cheung Tak Temple. Crossing the Liwu River, the bridge was completed in August 1960. As the bridge has gone beyond its life span and the area is geologically unstable, in consideration of safety, the bridge was rebuilt with cement in March 1998.
